ROSES AND GARDENIAS

I imagine myself as a rose in a gardenia field. I am complimented on my beauty because I stand out, but I have no connection to my peers.

I rejoice when the wind rushes like the gardenias, but I don’t feel the same way they do.

I, like my peers, wake up to the sun’s greetings, but I believe we feel differently.

While my affinity for gardenias is acceptable. I imagine how warm it will feel to have a family in roses.

I imagine how much joy and laughter I will share with other roses who understand who I am and what makes me who I am, because I am just like them.

I value my time with the gardenias and how they have helped me figure out not just who I am but who I want to be. I appreciate their hospitality and warm hands…

Gardenias aren’t enough for me. I want to live a life of roses among roses in order to live a life of connection and understanding.

I want to fulfill my true destiny and live the life that people like me are meant to live.
